Bend of Ivy Lodge is the first Carbon Neutral business in Western North Carolina. A beautiful retreat and conference center 20 minutes north of Asheville, North Carolina, we are nestled on 63 acres of land that slopes gently down to the Ivy River. The completely renovated lodge building is available to groups seeking a special place to hold a workshop, retreat, meeting, family reunion or special event. An independently owned organic farm on our land provides the freshest possible produce for delicious meals.

This unique venue, cradled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, is a renovated tobacco barn. The property is a true standout within the culturally rich area surrounding Asheville. The main hall looks out over the valley with a 22 foot high grand window, and will hold 30 people for meetings or gatherings. The retreat center Lodge is finished in pine, with a balcony railing crafted from the old tobacco poles, and art from around the world.

Accomodations for 28 are available on-site. Ten bedrooms are in the Lodge, and two dormitory-style rooms are in the nearby farmhouse. A fully equipped kitchen and dining area are equipped for 30.

Outside is a large covered porch looking out over a pond, a waterfall, and gardens. A nearby Pavilion provides an inspiring space for workshops and wedding receptions. The land provides a serene and peaceful outdoor space with hiking trails, and plenty of space for outdoor events or weddings. See more details about the facilities.

A grassy glade of walnut and sycamore trees along the river, views of the high Blue Ridge Mountains, and forest trails lined with trillium, jack-in-the-pulpit, and rhododendron restore the spirit. Beaver, fox, and great blue herons call this home. Take a tour of the land.

Bend of Ivy Lodge exists to provide a peaceful and inspiring place for retreats (yoga, meditation, and business/corporate groups are welcome), as well as workshops, organizational meetings, and special events (family reunions, weddings). We are deeply committed to on-going activities to keep our environmental footprint to a minimum, offset any carbon dioxide contributions generated by our business, and educate our guests about global warming and actions they can take.
